If that was done especially with the realignments making 200Km/h achievable but provide for future faster services when the need arises at least should be in the futures planning for rail.I would suggest that those parts of the corridor which could be rebuilt on the existing route should be upgraded to allow for 200km/h electrified passenger service and 140km/h electric-hauled fast intermodal and ro-ro truck carriers.
New bypasses should be built to allow for 250km/h with passing loops for fast freight and the old line retained for heavy freight. No point going any slower than that if we want to make rail more attractive.
