The NT government is in so much debt that it's simply incredible - $22,000 for each Territorian and its expanding so rapidly that its projected to be $30,000,000,000 or $120,000 per resident by the end of this decade if it isn't reigned in. I can say my view of Daniel Andrews has dramatically changed from a few months ago, when I was supporting him in this thread. Gone are those days, and gone are the days of the economy being able to help us post-covid.The cracks are definitely starting to show in support for Andrews (who it must be remembered holds government with a very large margin) among people I speak to.

Talking to a friend last night, I have known her for 30 years and she is a lifelong Labour voter and staunch bleeding heart lefty by her own admission.
I was astonished when she said "you know I'm supportive of our Dan and what choice do we have etc. but I will be pretty pissed off if we meet the criteria for lifting restrictions early and they don't do something about it..."

I don't think O'Brien is there to be elected, with the Libs suffering such a huge loss in the last poll I think he is a chair warmer for the next likely leader who will come forward when it is a bit more likely that they will have a decent shot at unseating Labor.
I would have said that was at least another full cycle away but with the current crisis who knows?
And a note about how good my political nouse is, I confidently predicted that Trump would NEVER be elected on the grounds that despite him having a large and growing supporter base at the time he would not get enough votes from among "ordinary voters". Oh dear.......
