With their Ultima and Dandenong South trains making good use of that wagon rake, will QUBE even have the rollingstock to run this train if its required?

I believe the Dandenong Cement has its own rake now, although I'm not 100% sure

This weeks rainfall for the Wimmera for those interested, keeping thing's nice and damp. Plenty of rain over the Northern Grampians and across to Avoca so some nice inflows into the Wimmera Mallee stock & domestic reservoir system and the Wimmera river starting to flow up in the head waters for those who are getting bored with field reports..  Rolling Eyes

A mid-year update on Bendigo line bulk grain haulage:

Approximately 100000 Tonnes of grain hauled on rail since Nov 1, 2020.

Some comparisons with previous years:
Nov 1 2016 to June 30, 2017: 86 kT
Nov 1 2017 to June 30, 2018: 150 kT
Nov 1 2018 to June 30, 2019: 40 kT
Nov 1 2019 to June 30, 2020: 25 kT

So we're tracking about 2/3rds of the big 2017-2018 haul and just above 2016/7.  Those years had the Qube BG grain running regularly.  And it hasn't run since 2018.

Great report for the Wimmera in the rainfall department, things pointing in the right direction at the minute, not quite as rosy for the Mallee.

Wimmera crops benefit from June rain.

Cropping prospects in the Wimmera region have rebounded just in time thanks to opening winter rain.

With top-end yield prospects fading at the start of the month due to no autumn break, there was growing concern about the season ahead.

However, unseasonably heavy June rainbands mean crops are now emerging and have sufficient rainfall for the weeks to come.

With the Bureau of Meteorology's favourable outlook for late winter and early spring, confidence is again rising in the region.
