Woomera Railway Station

I have been to Woomera several times but it was only until I looked at a satellite map that I noticed there was a railway station (near airfield). I followed a feint gash in the ground to Pimba so I guess it was a spur. When did this line close? We're there pax services or just freight? Who operated them? Is the station building and facilities still intact?

There was an article in Australian Railway History within about the last 18 months that covered the line, track diagrams plus alot of photos,

Les.
