Sigh! After the clue about another language, the V in TGV came to mind.

Ummm. I don't like to be picky dalts 1985. Errr, but the rules do include

One Answer per question, with no multiple answers contained in the answer. Further Answers are pemitted after previous answers are declared incorrect.

I can't really say if either or both are incorrect. Though obviously at least one of them is.   Wink

IT's up to dalts 1985 to pick one of his choices.
If someone in the mean time picks the correct one....then they will take the question.
One of the choices is spelled incorrectly, perhaps we should be strict with spelling as well...

Sorry Folks, I'll go with Wittlesea (or however it's spelt). I've been working the grave yard shift of late, so I'm not quite with it.

One of the choices is spelled incorrectly, perhaps we should be strict with spelling as well...

MOM don't be picky Mad , I wasn't one of the greats at school when it came to Spelling Wink , as long as it is easy to make out what the person is trying to say, I think it's fine,  I helped teach some new students that have migrated for foregin country to speak & write the english langage this year, as part of my Yr 12 activity's, If you think my speeloing is bad, you should of tried to read.understand of of theirs Exclamation  Any back on topic now Rolling Eyes

Not meaning to be, however this is one of those towns that needs to be better defined.
If unsure of spelling then simply mention area, region or line it's on.
That will clear up any confusion as to what you actually mean.
I've heard of folk be confused between the 2. Laughing

Ok, Point taken, Just where is Wittlesea (or how ever it's spelt) any way?

Whittlesea is the correct spelling if I am not mistaken.

And my guess is the other one: Winchlesea?
  B 67 Chief Commissioner

Location: Central Gippsland
It's not Whittlesea. Smile    I understood where you meant. That's the main thing.

Now, I am feeling generous and shall state that the answer does not have the word "sea" in it. So that rules out Winchelsea for you too.

I'm a little surprised there hasn't been other guesses. I'm trying to think of a suitable clue that won't give too much away.
A long-lived radio program holds part of the answer.

There are 2 parts to this clue. If you work either part, the other should almost give itself away. I'll have to consider ending this one tonight and moving onto something easier if there are no other attempts. This one isn't really getting much response.

A guess: Bonbeach?

I don't think it's lack of response, simply some clarification was required:

can't really say if either or both are incorrect. Though obviously at least one of them is.

So if it isn't Whittlesea, then it must be Winchelsea. I can't see it, you may have mis-lead us with your reply [un-intentionally, of course].
Perhaps you can clarify this and we can all have another try....

The only thing thing I can gues that comes anywhere close is:

Ran back=Nar
Long lived radio program=The Goons

So, therefore my gues is Nar Nar Goon  Smile

Dutton Bay has also guessed this one as well, soi if it's it, we have a tie.

duttonbay did get it first. We have ties here???  Smile

ran back to does indeed refer to spelling ran backwards  = Nar. to somewhat dubiously means Nar twice.
amusing sea was a Goons reference (Seagoon).

I thought of Nar Nar Goon, but only from the "Nar" bit; I couldn't see the rest.   I should have tried it anyway Sad

And I was convinced that you meant that it was either Whittlesea or Winchelsea.

Oh well.

My apologies for any confusion. Two answers were given. I had said

can't really say if either or both are incorrect. Though obviously at least one of them is.

I thought this was clear. One answer had to be wrong. But both could've been wrong as well - which they were.
