Wallangarra-Station looks magnificent and has been fully restored.Some yard rationalisation and NSW tracks overgrown. QR tracks well kept, in fact the whole line south of Warwick has been reballasted and sleepered!
The section from Wallangarra to Tenterfield follows the New England highway in the main and alll bridges are still in place as well as the track. The ballast deck bridge at Sunnyside (About 1/2 way) is worth a picture alone!
Tenterfield- station fully preserved with tracks still in yard and goods sheds crew barracks-Is a museum and well worth the $6.00 admission.Has on display a 600 class (DEB set) and some freight vans.wagons- unfortunately, trike rides were cancelled due to insurance cost.
Deepwater- station in god condition with tracks in place but overgrown and water tower.
Guyra- Yard all in place weeds kept away , station buliding and freight crane fully preserved and in good condition.
GlenInnes- Yard in place but overgrown .Station in fair condtion. There are about 6 fuel tank wagons in the yard! Work on restoring some DEB sets at far end of yard.
Armidale- Still operational at this stage!-Station is absolutlely magnificent! There are several rail cars undergoing restoration here as well.
As a person who travelled this line many times i would recommend you take the explorer to Armidale while you can and if you get to Tenterfield - dont miss the railway station musuem!
