IIRC, DVR's G IS petrol hydraulic, but they also have air brakes to hold the train still.  While Box Hill's relies on the hydraulics to stop and hold the train still.

Actually, its diesel Hydraulic. But it does have the air brakes.

G527 at DVR relies on it's hrydraulics for it's braking. The Air indeed is more of a parking brake. G527 is Diesal-Hrydraulic !!!
