    If the long hood is low enough to squeeze into the QR/Aurizon loading gauges then it will be better competition to the proposed GT46CU-ACe than a 3700hp PowerHaul. Another wait and see.

    Transnet has maximum width of 3,048 mm (10 ft) and maximum height of 3,962 mm (13 ft). South African main trunk lines (except for heavy haul mineral corridors) had an axle weight of 21 tonnes, however the proposed ES40ACi is quoted in the GE press release as 130 tonnes, so axle weight may be creeping up to 22 tonnes

    Heavy haul mineral routes can be as high as 29.5 tonnes per axle
