China Railway has awarded the Bombardier Sifang (Qingdao) Transportation joint venture a 1·6bn yuan contract to supply 14 eight-car CR300AF trainsets by January 2021.
The BST 50:50 joint venture of Bombardier Transportation and CRRC Sifang Rolling Stock BST was first chosen to supply China Standard high speed trains in 2018, and since then has delivered a total of 448 CR400AF and CR400AF-A vehicles for operation at speeds up to 350 km/h.
BST’s first contract to supply a 250 km/h variant of the family was announced on November 19. It covers four trainsets for Guangdong Meizhou – Shantou Passenger Dedicated Line Co and 10 for Fujian Fuping Railway Co.
‘We will deliver the state-of-art trains at quality, within budget and on time’, said Jianwei Zhang, President of Bombardier Transportation China.
