A driver has been called “very lucky” after his LandCruiser was written off following a crash between a ute and train near Rosella.
Senior Sergeant Trevor Robson said it may take hours for a rail tracks to be cleared following the incident at 6.40am.
Senior Sergeant Robson said a young man was driving the LandCruiser west on Sarina-Homebush Road near Rosella when he collided with the train.

“Boom gates and lights were acting at the time,” Senior Sergeant Robson said.
“He then hasn’t seen the train and collided with the right hand corner of the front locomotive.”
Senior Sergeant Robson said he was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition.
“He was very lucky,” Sergeant Robson said.
He said the LandCruiser was a write-off. Sand was scattered next to the tracks to clean up the spillage.

EARLIER: A man is being assessed by paramedics for possible serious injuries after a car and train collided at the Rosella railway station early Friday.
The crash occurred at 6.42am and involved a car and a goods train.
It is understood Queensland Rail is sending an investigator to inspect the site.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics assessed the driver, a man in his 20s, for possible serious injuries. He has been taken to Mackay Base Hospital.
There is significant damage to the vehicle.
The train driver has been assessed and will not be transported.
It is understood Rosella Homebush Road is currently blocked, but the Bruce Highway is open.
The boom gate on the western side of the crossing has been destroyed.
