Friday, **January 22**, [GO Transit](http://www.gotransit.com/)
buses trains along the **Stouffville** line after about 7 p.m. While the line is closed, [Metrolinx](http://www.metrolinx.com/) contractors are upgrading the infrastructure on the line as part of the **GO Expansion Program**.
The buses that replace the trains don't stop at Milliken, Agincourt, Kennedy or Scarborough GO stations. The [TTC](http://www.ttc.ca/) operates near all of these stations, with Line 2 **Bloor - Danforth** and Line 3 **Scarborough** trains stopping at Kennedy. Also, if you're travelling to or from Scarborough GO Station, consider boarding GO trains along the 09 **Lakeshore East** line.
That evening, GO is cancelling the **southbound** trains that usually leave Mount Joy GO Station at 8:35, 9:35 and 10:35 p.m. (The trains usually end their trips in Union Station at 9:28, 10:28 and 11:28 p.m.)
It's also cancelling the **northbound** trains that usually leave Union Station at 7:14, 8:14 and 9:14 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. (The trains usually end their trips in Mount Joy GO Station at 8:05, 9:05 and 10:05 p.m.)
It's also not operating the **northbound** trains that usually leave Union at 10:14 and 11:14 p.m. (The trains usually end their trips in Lincolnville GO Station at 11:22 p.m. and 12:22 p.m.)

[Starting Saturday, **January 23**](/archives/weblog/2021/01/20-go_replaci.shtml), GO replaces trains with buses all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and Monday-to-Friday evenings. According to the transit agency, "we are temporarily replacing select GO train service with buses to better match [passenger] demand." Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of riders aboard GO trains has decreased by more than 90 per cent.
Metrolinx and GO **plan to accommodate more passengers and increase service** [along the Stouffville line](http://www.metrolinx.com/en/greaterregion/projects/stouffville-go-expansion.aspx), as part of their **[GO Expansion Program](http://www.metrolinx.com/en/greaterregion/projects/go-expansion.aspx)** (formerly "[regional express rail](/archives/weblog/2014/04/17-ontario_go.shtml)").
