Furniture brand Godrej Interio has secured contracts for three metro projects in the Indian cities of Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kochi.
The total value of the agreements is approximately Rs2.5bn ($34.25m).
Under the contracts, the company will be responsible for executing the civil finishes, cladding, block works, metal ceiling, aluminium louvres, and facade glazing.
Godrej Interio will also perform structural steel works, plumbing, railing and horticulture.
The key consultants for these metro projects are Delhi Metro Rail (DMRCL) for Mumbai, Kochi project under Kochi Metro Rail (KMRL) and Bangalore Metro Rail (BMRCL) for Bengaluru.
The contracts cover around nine stations for Mumbai Metro, which will link Line A from Dahisar to Kamraj Nagar; 12 stations for Bengaluru Reach 3 and Reach 5 linking HSR Layout to Bommasandra; and two stations for Kochi Metro line.
Godrej Interio COO Anil Sain Mathur was quoted by mint as saying: “In line with the Make in India mission, Godrej Interio has always been at the forefront of contributing towards building the nation.
“We have been working closely with the respective metro rail corporations to deliver a world-class experience for commuters through our expertise in delivering turnkey solutions and partaking in India’s vision to build a strong public transport network across the country.”
The projects are expected to contribute up to 50% to the company’s turnover from the B2B segment.
Following these contracts, the company is now involved in four metro rail projects across India, including Kolkata.
Since its formation, Godrej Interio has executed more than 1,500 turnkey projects.
