A special event was held at Paddington station which saw the rail operator reveal its fleet of carriages displaying their new global names . The renaming of the Heathrow Express carriages after twelve cities from around the globe comes as part of a bid to celebrate international travel and follows a competition with Heart Radio to discover the public’s favourite city destinations.
The cities chosen by the public, are London, New York, Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Amsterdam, Sydney, Dublin, Prague, Tokyo, San Francisco, and Las Vegas.
The Heathrow Express carriages will now display the names of these well-loved destinations alongside contemporary artwork which reveals their iconic skylines.
The unveiling of the carriages at Paddington Station was carried out by Sophie Chapman Business Lead and Director of Heathrow Express; Barry Milsom, Train Service Delivery & Performance Director at Great Western Railway; Rose Wangen-Jones, Managing Director, Marketing, Destination & Commercial at London & Partners and Mark Hopwood, Managing Director of Great Western Railway.
