S7 A320neo at Novosibirsk in Siberia
I wonder how many people have flown every one of the 13 One World alliance member airlines?
Landing in Irkutsk in Siberia, 4000 direct Km east of Moscow
After four flights across Russia with Siberia Airlines S7, I can now claim this milestone. In a previous post, I have also travelled on Air Berlin and Malev, two One World members that closed down. I also flew Aer Lingus which left the alliance in 2007.
Hoping that I get a certificate?!
Boarding at Irkutsk for my flight to Bangkok
I have travelled in Economy (Coach) and Business with every current One World carrier with a couple of exceptions. I have only flown in Business Class with SriLanka and only in Economy with Iberia and Japan Airlines. First Class has been experienced with just Qantas and American.
Qatar 350 in One World livery at Doha airport
After 588 flights with all of the One World carriers, Qatar Airlines is hands down the best OneWorld airline in terms of customer service, on board product, food, lounges and crisis handling.
At the opposite end with the worst of everything has been American Airlines-until last year. I have been told the company has dramatically improved. I will test this assertion with a couple of AA trips later this year.
Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines and Qantas offer a good product and I am happy with Finnair, Malaysia, S7 and Sri Lanka. British Airways, Royal Jordanian and LATAM are consistently inconsistent -delightful one flight and woeful on the next. Not a fan of Iberia but have never tried their business class so that may colour my opinion.
What about you? How many of the One World airlines have you flown? Favourite? Least liked?
