Hull-based coach operator East Yorkshire Coaches is restarting its day trip programme and has launched a dramatic new livery for its fleet of coaches as it heralds the dawn of a new era for coach trips and hires across the region.
The Go-Ahead owned company, which runs UK coach holidays and day trips as well as providing coaches for private hire, unveiled the new coach design during a trip by Buses Minister Baroness Vere to York last week.
At the same time their ever popular range of day trips are back on sale with a programme of safe, socially distanced, great value trips on offer to destinations such as Whitby, Lincoln, Skegness and Meadowhall.
The new livery incorporates the company’s traditional colours along with the Yorkshire rose and a Union Jack, and will eventually be rolled out to its full fleet of coaches that provide a modern, comfortable and safe means of leisure travel.
Bookings for day trips can be made through the company’s website at http://www.eastyorkshirecoaches.co.uk, and the company’s team are back at work in their Hull office ready and waiting to offer competitive quotes for coach hire too, with a range of vehicle options to offer sufficient capacity for social distancing and with extra cleaning and safety features such as hand sanitiser on board.
Ben Gilligan, the company’s Area Director, said: “It’s been a difficult time for the coach industry over the last few months, with the pandemic causing us to cancel all our summer holidays and day trips. It’s great to have some positive news, with the launch of our new bright livery coming as we bring back our programme of day trips in October. The announcement that we’re running day trips again has had a great response from the public, and we’re really looking forward to seeing some of our regular customers again as we redouble our efforts to grow the business.”
The launch coach was repainted at Meridian Coachworks near York, a facility owned by independent coach company York Pullman. The design is by branding agency Best Impressions, following their earlier work to rebrand the wider East Yorkshire bus fleet, with vinyl graphics by Hull-based Kram Signs.
Ben continued: “Having the coach repainted by Meridian Coachworks is a great example of small and larger coach and bus operators working together, something that’s all the more important in these challenging times.”
