It's been a bit of a challenge for commuters, with services on the Newcastle to Sydney line reduced.
The ABC’s Dan and Jenny spoke to Howard Collins, the chief operations officer of Transport for NSW.
They wanted to know why local services have been reduced, even though Newcastle and the Hunter region is not in lockdown.
