The South Australian Premier Steven Marshall, has announced that the government is outsourcing the state's metropolitan train and tram network.
Now the Marshall LNP Government is using the term outsourcing as a euphemism for the sale of the network, because the words sell and privatisation in the country have been associated with dirty deals and the community is fed up with privatisation of their assets.
The sale of tax payer assets are associated with declining services and escalating costs and poor and sub standard of performance as is evident in the privatised Metro train and Tram network in Melbourne.
So the Marshall LNP Government is attempting to put a new spin on the selling the train and tram networks.
Devoid of policies LNP, it appears that LNP Governments always resort to the selling off of tax payer assets, which they also refer to as Government owned assets.
A recent statement by the ACCC CEO which state that the Australian economy has been damaged by privatisation, which not a singular politician had the courage to challenge.
The Marshall Government's decision to 'outsource' the metropolitan train and tram network flies in the face and ignores the ACCC CEO's advice.
South Australia is having a crisis of confidence and this is borne out with a declining population as people leave South Australia to move interstate and a declining birth rate and this is impacting on the economy of the state.
This happened in Victoria when Jeff Kennett and his nefarious LNP Government came to power, the state population declined as people with expertise and knowledge moved out of the state, because they did not want to live under an authoritarian arrogant Premier intent on selling off the state.
Steven Marshall's LNP Government's sale of the train and tram network is not going to increase the confidence of South Australian's to stay in the state, rather it will be the matter of the last person out please turn off the light.
Transport in South Australia certainly appears to be going backward , with the closure of the Eyre rail line by GWA to carry grain and being replaced by an estimated 30,000 trucks to do the same level of movement of grain and the Federal (feral) Liberal member Rowan Ramsey endorsing the closure and allocating $20 million to upgrade the Eyre Highway for the trucks. The appalling state of decline in maintenance of the rural rail network per courtesy of GWA. has gone unchallenged by the Steven Marshall LNP Government.
