India-based IT services and consulting firm Tata Consultancy Services has partnered with SAP to develop Intelligent Rail Digital Maintenance (iRDM), which is powered by SAP Leonardo.
This solution is intended to help rail customers digitally transform their businesses.
Leveraging the latest technologies such as advanced analytics, big data, drones, machine learning, the Internet of Things and mobility components of SAP Leonardo, TCS iRDM Solution aids in carrying out drone-based safety inspections.
It also helps in conduct predictive maintenance to stop component failures by remotely monitoring the condition of all asset classes including rolling stock, tracks, structures and way side equipment.
The digital asset maintenance functionality can integrate with enterprise asset management processes of rail customers.
This solution also helps to reduce unplanned outages, reduce capital investments on equipment, enhance efficiency and boost safety.
"We are helping businesses make the transformational move to the Intelligent Enterprise."
TCS Travel Transportation and Hospitality Business Group vice president Siva Ganesan said: “The iRDM solution leverages our 40+ years of rail industry experience across the breadth and depth of core railways functions to enable our rail customers to digitally transform their asset maintenance and repair processes.
“The solution can help our customers realise significant business benefits, improve safety and asset availability, increase visibility and facilitate the adoption of standardised global best practices across the organisation.”
SAP SE Travel, Transportation and Hospitality industries general manager Paul Pessutti said: “We are extremely excited to work with TCS on this solution for the Transportation Industry. By leveraging the industry expertise, commitment to quality delivery and deep customer focus from the teams at TCS and SAP, we are helping businesses make the transformational move to the Intelligent Enterprise.”
SAP provides consulting services, shared services, hosting services, advisory, rollouts, upgrade and implementation services.
TCS Travel and Hospitality Innovation Lab is a part of the TCS Co-Innovation Network. It provides an ecosystem to customers that helps them to research emerging trends and develop proofs of concept and co-innovate.
