Ex-LNER A3 No. 60103 Flying Scotsman will be on the mainline this Saturday as it heads a railtour to Carlisle.
Departing the Derby at 05:50 behind a diesel locomotive and will pass through Long Eaton (06:01), Beeston (06:11), Ilkeston (06:35), Alfreton (06:48), Chesterfield (07:06) and Doncaster at 07:54.
Here, Flying Scotsman is added to the train. Departing at 08:42 the train will pass through Pontefract Monkhill (09:12), Shipley (10:22), Keighley (10:42), Gargrave (11:00), Hellifield (11:12), Ribblehead (12:25), Appleby (13:02), Langwathby (13:16) and Carlisle at 13:52.
After servicing, the return trip will depart Carlisle at 16:07 and will pass through Haltwhistle (16:41), Hexham (17:05), Metrocentre (17:34), Durham (18:23) and Darlington at 18:50, where Flying Scotsman is replaced. The diesels will haul the tour back to Derby via York (20:06), Church Fenton (20:23), Chesterfield (21:24), Alfreton (21:41), Ilkeston (21:55), Beeston (22:28), Long Eaton (22:49) and Derby at 23:01.
Meanwhile, back at Darlington, Flying Scotsman will make her way to Shildon for the summer. Departing Darlington at 19:04, the locomotive will head for turning at Darlington South (19:06 and 20:04), Darlington (20:09), North Road (20:12) Heighington (20:23) and Shildon at 20:35.
